Ans: To work within a Province an NGO has to be registered with that Province, for broader framework they get registered with SECP, however all NGOs are not EAD domain only NGOs/Organizations receiving Foreign Funding falls within our ambit.

Ans: EAD updates its approved NGOs List on monthly basis and encourages all Development Partners/Donors to work and engage the NGOs who have signed MoU with EAD.

Ans: Its other way around to be able to work in province Provincial registrations comes first, its part of our checklist to be able to work in province but once EAD MoU is in place, I don’t think you need any other registration with Province. However provinces will be Partners on EAD e-portal once launched and hence there will be no duplication.

Ans: if NGO is regretted, either they can file Review/Appeal to EAD, requesting for opportunity of being heard, the Review Committee communicates the, reasons and investigates evidences, facts and explanations offered by the appellant and decides accordingly, the decision of the Review Committee is however final.

Ans: EAD believes in continuous improvement, we already engaged all stakeholders along with CSOs in formulation of Draft NGOs Policy 2022 for organizations receiving foreign funding, to create a consensus document in order to address concerns of each stakeholder, which hopefully will be soon launched, several webinars (virtual sessions) and number of in person sessions at Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, have already been organized with the support of CSOs to create awareness on systems and procedures of EAD, some of organization that hosted the events are CBM, HRDN, CWSA, SPADO, SDPI, PCP, PIDE.

Ans: EAD has already requested all organizations who have signed MoUs with EAD to upload their soft data via NGOs portal for future correspondence and ease of doing business. We are also encouraging uploading your applications online so they can be processed via portal rather manually.

Ans: yes, we are engaging all stakeholders to define specific mandates as per their domain and expertise to analyze the same at their end.
